How does your pricing work?

We charge a flat platform fee for company access to our tool. In addition, we charge you based on the hours of runtime that you use.

There are a handful of Blueprints that we don't charge runtime for, explained in this product announcement.

Within the platform, you can always purchase hours in bulk if you would prefer to have more predictable pricing (and get bulk discounts too).

What are the differences between the plans?

Our developer plan offers the ability for a small group of engineers to build multiple small workflows on the platform, free of charge. Eventually, hours will run out and more will have to be purchased.

Our team plan allows more practitioners and business users alike to orchestrate data pipelines at scale with extended logs, version control, and more reusable Blueprints.

Our business plan provides advanced features like APIs + Webhooks. The plan comes also comes priority support, increased security and access control enhancements. This plan requires an annual commitment with signed contracts.

Our enterprise plan is fully customized to your needs with dedicated support.

How can I test the product?

We offer a free Developer plan to get started building data pipelines. A credit card is not required to sign up for this.

While on the Developer Plan, you can continue to build and run Vessels, and Fleets until you run out of runtime. At that point, you can always purchase more.

If you need help with a specific proof of concept, we recommend booking a custom demo.

How secure is Shipyard?

Secure enough that we're used by Fortune 500 brands, financial institutions, and insurance companies alike. We maintain high standards for data security through our AWS infrastructure and continue to be proactive about ways to protect your data in the platform. For Business and Enterprise plans, we're happy to fill out security questionnaires that your CISO may have.

How do I cancel my subscription?

If you no longer wish to use Shipyard, you can choose to cancel your subscription at any time. Your organization will be downgraded to the Developer plan at the end of the current billing cycle.

After your last billing cycle, you will receive one more charge for any usage incurred, if any.

How does billing work?

We use Stripe as our payment processor to automatically handle subscriptions and invoices. Your monthly billing period will begin from the moment you subscribe. We charge your credit card at the beginning of each monthly billing period, including additional usage costs incurred from the previous month.

Invoices can be viewed from your billing portal at any time.

Do you offer any discounts?

We offer discounts for both Education organizations and Non-Profits.

Do I need to know how to code?

Our Blueprint Library offers many ways to get started moving data between your data tools without needing to code.

However, to help facilitate proprietary business logic, it is helpful to have a grasp of Python, Node.js, SQL, or Bash to use the platform to its full potential.

How do I track usage?

Organization usage can always be tracked via the usage dashboard. You will be charged for usage according to the prices listed above, unless you have custom rates with an Enterprise plan. We will add additional charges onto the next month's bill.

How do you calculate runtime?

Shipyard charges for the cumulative time that your scripts take to run on our infrastructure, regardless of the final status of the job. You are not charged for any time delays between automatic retries, but each retry will have its own runtime associated to it.

On your invoice, we bill per second, with each Vessel's runtime rounded to the nearest second. For examples and different scenarios, read our FAQ.

What limitations do you have?

None that you'll likely run into! We designed our platform to scale effectively to handle any data workflow, big or small, without you needing to worry about the infrastructure. Try to build out a proof of concept and put us to the test!
